After speaking with Jack Candlish from Organic Dynamic - his thoughts on what we are doing...

"Definitely consider making cases for electronics devices.
People pay a premium for products that protect valuable products, they will be way easier to make. Are you familiar with freitag? Most people i see with them are professionals. Not many adults wear backpacks - there more a student thing and students cant often afford premium products.
If you want to use locally recycled suits and make them locally - and turn a profit then you need to be in the premium market, so you have to be minimalizing labour and adding value through design and story."

"My advice would be make a few samples of a few products, Bags, Sleeves, Wallets etc all from recycled wetsuits. Don’t worry to much about the details, Just quick samples, Take some good photographs that demonstrate the product in use and a few fashion-y ones - wallets on a wooden table next to a steamy cup of coffee, People walking on the beach with the bag in focus. you know the ones.
Setup an epic looking shopify or similar account with all the analytics functions. you can also add a pre-order function.hammer the products on social media and direct traffic to the website then analyse the data and see what got the the most views and how many people looked through all the photos, how long they spent on each page all that jazz, Hopefully some people pre order in which case you will either have to make the product or give them there money back.
Then you will want to work out what products have the best margins on materials and labour, Remember to factor in the time and transport costs of acquiring the wetsuits - and the cost of cleaning them. This should give you some solid data to educate your decisions"
